This vibrant San Francisco Wedding was brought to life by top Bay Area Planner Cynthia West of Creative Flow Co. and is truly a celebration of African culture.
When the Bride dreams of a vibrant African wedding, San Francisco Wedding Planner, Creative Flow Co. makes it happen. Veuve Cliquot was the inspiration for the event as well as the beautiful traditions that tie in the couple’s African culture.
With tradition at the forefront of this vibrant African wedding in SF, the Catholic ceremony was held at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in San Francisco. An African choir and drums complemented the mass beautifully and tied in the overall cultural element that was so important to both families.
Bright beautiful colors are often incorporated into African wedding celebrations. N+J wanted lots of color throughout the design. The more vibrance, the better. This design was really fun to bring together and allowed us to take some fun risks while selecting elements to incorporate. Neon linens covered the dining tables and were graced with fresh citrus and gold votives. Contrasting colors filled the floral arrangements and provided another punch of color throughout the space.
Throughout the reception of this SF African wedding celebration, we incorporated both Ugandan and Nigerian aspects into dance sets including throwing money at the couple, as well as traditional African dances. Afrobeats provided by DJ Slim, who played all the hits, and MC Yomi who helped identify and explain each tradition.
It was such an honor to help bring this vision to life for these two. Congrats to the beautiful couple!
Having begun their relationship in SF, the city skyline was the perfect backdrop to their next chapter.
