With the holiday season upon us, we are feeling oh so grateful for all that we have experienced as a small business this year. We have worked with so many amazing vendors, couples and businesses to create beautiful events (It IS what we do best!) and we are excited to share with you a mini recap of what keeps us feeling inspired in our down time.
I was given an Ahhh- MAZING opportunity to volunteer at OSI and my, my, my! The Oh So Inspired Retreat did not disappoint. The giggles over the Fireside Chat, the ooh’s and aww’s of the beautiful Farm-to-Table dinner and the amazing friendships that were made are just some of the memories I brought home from the 4-day Sonoma Retreat. The amazing event was hosted at Ramekin’s Culinary School and was a real delight!
The Low-Down
I mean, with the star studded line up, we knew we were all in store for some amazing advice and that’s just what we got! Listening to inspiring speakers like Marcy Blum on how she built her business and getting advice from Sean Low on how to apply all the new information to our own businesses was seriously priceless. The knowledgeable panel full of Editors like Cristine Thomas of Today’s Bride, Kathryn Storke-Grady of Snippet and Ink and Stephanie Weers of Style My Pretty gave some great insight on how to get your work published – a question I feel like everyone is asking. And amazing Photographers and Videographers like KT Merry, Delbarr Moradi and Jessica from Love Spun Films highlighting how to stage that perfect shot is info I will go on using event after event.
Getting Down & Dirty
The hands-on-portion of the retreat was my fav! What can I say? I’m a hands on kinda girl! Attendees got to participate in the an amazing Calligraphy Class taught by no other than Maybelle Imasa, a mini Sketchbook Class taught by OSI Co-Founder Mary Phan, and a hands on Floral Class taught by OSI Co-Founder Nancy Liu Chin where we we created a drop dead gorgeous floral lined chuppa.
The Icing on the Cake
The biggest take away for me was knowing that I’m not alone. Knowing that yes- sometimes life gets crazy but if you keep pushing through, the rewards will be stupendous! I met so many amazing people over the 4 days I volunteered and hearing all of their experiences plus learning from industry game-changers was more than I could have ever imagined. I am happy to hear talk of OSI 2015 with more announcements coming soon!
xoxo,
Cynthia
